Kristen Burns received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Worcester State University and graduated from WPI with a Master of Mathematics for Educators. Mrs. Burns taught for 14 years at Millbury Memorial Jr/Sr High School prior to joining Mass Academy. Her classroom focuses on the importance of relationship building and collaboration, which is done through team building activities, group discussions and investigations, and project-based learning.
Mrs. Burns also served as Student Council advisor and Math Team advisor. While teaching in Millbury, she received the Partners in Excellence Award from Mass Insight for her teaching in AP Statistics. She continues to remain an active member of the AP community, planning Saturday Sessions for AP math students at local schools and participating in the AP reading every year for College Board.
