Dr. Crowthers recently joined the faculty at Mass Academy as the Science and Technical Writing as well as the STEM teacher. Before arriving at Mass Academy, he taught several advanced science classes (Biology, Chemistry, and Genetics/Biotechnology) at Worcester Academy and guided students with independent research projects. His goal is to provide an environment in which to pique a student’s curiosity and cultivate a sense of wonder so that they will be motivated to learn more about science on their own. Through this process of discovery and firsthand investigation, students are guided to gain a solid foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math principles.
Dr. Crowthers earned his BA from La Salle University in Philadelphia and a doctorate in Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut. He also completed post-doctoral work at UMass Medical Center.
