Before beginning his teaching career in 2002, William Ellis served in the Marines as an air traffic controller; worked for the U.S. Department of Energy in particle physics at the Brookhaven National Lab; and spent six years in the private sector as a programmer, systems administrator, network engineer, security analyst, and technology integration consultant.
At Mass Academy, Mr. Ellis teaches physics with a focus on collaborative learning and differentiated instruction, utilizing experimental, mathematical, and computer-based methods. He has also run extracurriculars such as disc golf, photography, drawing, puzzles and games, UNIX, and astrophysics.
