Mass Academy Participates in 2023 HiMCM

February 2, 2024
HiMCM 2023

The High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling (HiMCM) was designed to provide students with the opportunity to work as team members in a contest that will stimulate and improve their problem solving and writing skills. This competition takes place with teams consisting of up to four students working on a real-world problem for a consecutive fifty-hour period. A total of 967 teams, representing 417 schools and 18 countries/regions competed.

Congratulations to all HiMCM team members for their hard work and the high quality of their problem solution and presentation. Teams are designated as Successful Participant, Honorable Mention, Meritorious, Finalist, or Outstanding Winner. Nine teams were designated as Outstanding Winners, including Mass Academy’s Team 14632 – Ashwina Bangari, David Barsoum, Nicole Plotnik, and Charles Tang!

All of the United States HiMCM Meritorious and above winning teams are invited to compete in the 99th Annual International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IM2C) scheduled for February 12, 2024 through April 17, 2024. Each competing team solves the same modeling problem during a consecutive 5-day period of their choosing within the contest window.
