School-wide Rubrics
In preparation for the upcoming accreditation review by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), 1-4 March 2009, and for the benefit of the entire school community, the administration and faculty make available here the nine school-wide rubrics of the Academy: Critical Thinking, Reading, Writing, Collaboration, Problem-Solving, Technology, Presenting, Community Service, and Numeracy.
School-wide rubrics, as distinct from course-specific rubrics, inform the administration and faculty in their efforts to assess how well the school fulfills its academic, social, and civic expectations for students as specified in the Academy handbook. Thus, no one class caters to the specific knowledge, attitude and skills that appear in any one of the rubrics, nor do the rubrics dictate all the teaching and learning in every classroom; rather, it is all classes and school-wide activities taken together—the entire school culture—that is indicated by these guides.
- Critical Thinking Rubric
- Reading Rubric
- Writing Rubric
- Collaboration Rubric
- Problem-Solving Rubric
- Technology Rubric
- Presentation Rubric
- Community Service Rubric
- Numeracy Rubric
