Admissions Process
There are 7 steps in the process for application for admission for the Class of 2010:
1. Review
Review the Academy Web site to determine whether you are truly interested in and eligible to apply to the Academy. You may also wish to phone the Academy to ask questions: 508-831-5859.
2. Info Session
Attend one of the three information sessions for prospective students and their parents/ guardians:
- Wednesday, 30 January 2008 from 7 - 9 p.m.(10th graders, only)
- Sunday, 10 February 2008 from 1 - 3 p.m.(10th graders, only)
- Wednesday, 13 February 2008 from 7-8:30 pm (9th graders and under, only)
Sessions will be held at the Academy, 85 Prescott Street. All are encouraged to attend.
3. Shadow Date
Schedule a shadow date. Interested students should spend a day at the Academy to get a sense of the program, students, and faculty. Please call 508-831-5859 to schedule a full day visit to take place between January 14 and March 28, 2008.
4. Entrance Exam
Register for the Entrance Exam on one of the following dates by calling 508-831-5859:
- Wednesday, 20 February, 2008 1 - 4 p.m.
- Saturday, 23 February, 2008 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, 27 February, 2008 1 - 4 p.m.
The Exams are administered at the Academy located at 85 Prescott Street.
5. Application Form
Request an application from the Academy or Download the forms from the Academy website.
- Complete pages I and II of the application.
- Send pages I and II of the application and the required essay to:

Worcester, MA 01605 - Submit the recommendation forms to three teachers, one each of mathematics, science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science or Physics), and humanities (English, History, Arts, Music or World languages), who have instructed you in class. Provide each teacher with a stamped envelope addressed to the Academy. (There will be three recommendations in all.) Make sure that the forms are sent to the Academy.
- Submit the "Transcript Request" form to your high school's guidance office. Make sure that the forms are sent to the Academy.
- Submit your PSATs and SATs (if available).
- Please fill in all personal information required of you on the recommendation forms prior to distribution to your recommending teachers.
- The Academy will try to notify you from time to time of materials that are missing from your application. You are, however, ultimately responsible for ensuring that a complete application is received by the Academy in time for its deliberations.
- If admitted, you will be notified in writing of the decision of the Admission Committee.
6. Application Due Date
Submit completed application by Friday, 4 April, 2008.
7. Admission Decision
Decisions for Admission will be made by Thursday, 1 May, 2008.
